Dr. Bill Bukowski, a 1976 Psychology graduate of Canisius College, is a Professor and University Research Chair in the Department of Psychology of Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. Dr. Bukowski's research is focused on school-age chilrdren's experiences with their peers. Dr. Burgio was on campus November 2 and 3, 2006. A 1976 graduate of the college, at the time of his lecture Dr. Burgio was Distinguished University Research Professor and Director of the Center for Mental Health and Aging at the University of Alabama. His talk dealt with caretaking of Alzheimer patients. He shared information from his own research and that of a national consortium of researchers. BurgioVideo

Through an endowment to the Department and College, Dr. Donald L. Tollefson provided support for a number of academic enhancements to the department's offerings. The Lectureship is one of those. Twice yearly nationally known researchers in various areas of psychological science will share their work with the college community and meet with interested students in classes and individually.

Dr. Kastelein is the director of the Sea Mammal Research Company in Harderwijk, Netherlands. He has devoted his life to the scientific study of marine mammals and to promoting their conservation.
