How to Put a New Page on the Wiki
So, you've registered and are getting into this whole wiki thing and you want to add a new page for a particular purpose. Maybe you're the president of a student organization and want to start a page dealing with an upcoming event. Or you're a faculty member who wants to start a new page for people in one of your classes to discuss research ideas.
Well, it couldn't be easier. Here's what you do. First, decide on a descriptive page name. The organization president might use PsyClubPizzaParty and the faculty member might use Psy201Research. Both of these are OK because they are "wiki names", meaning they are a mix of upper-case and lower-case letters with no spaces and with at least one lower-case letter separating upper-case letters. Second, click on
NewPage and type your chosen page name into the box. Third, save it. Fourth, type in some information in the editing window that opens and end by clicking on the
Store button at the bottom of the edit window. The page will be saved with you as the owner. You can control who is able to read it and edit it through the
EditACLs link in small print at the very bottom of the page. Most people want to make it so that only they can edit their pages, and you can do that by entering your username (your registered wiki name that you use during login) in the center editing box of the
EditACL page.
