My interview was scheduled for 12:30. I went to Compeer West, it is located in the building behind Temple Beth on Elmwood. When i first went it i had to buzz in indicating that I was there to go to Compeer, I was then required to sign in on a clip-board my name, where I was going and what time I came in. I then went down to the Compeer office to fill out some paperwork. Once done I was taken to another room for an interview. The interview took about 45 minutes so with paperwork, I was done by 1:30. I then went over to the Buffalo Psychiatric Center to get finger printed. The process was only supposed to take about 15 minutes including the wait, however due to difficulties with the machine, I waited about 30 minutes and then the process itself took about 10 minutes.

This was a very exciting day! Sarah, the volunteer coordinator I report to, showed me mulitple people for each age group i wanted to work with. I requested Taure who is 19 as my first choice. She seems interesting and I think we could have a lot of fun hanging around campus and doing all the activities offered on campus. I then chose Maragret for my older Compeer friend. She seems like we would enjoy running errands together.

This was the first real contact with Ms. Hutchings to discuss meeting Taure. It is customary to make contact with the person's counselor to get additional information regarding the person and any extra acommodations they might need such as diet or time restraints. We discussed what my schedule looked like so that she could present Taure with options for times to meet with me so that Ms. Hutchings could be present for the initial meeting. She then indicated she would call back when they could decide on a day and time.

Ms. Hutchings and I talked on the phone again today to discuss meeting Taure. All of our schedules seem very busy and Taure and I may need to meet without Ms. Hutchings' presence.

This was the first contact with Michelle, she is Margaret's counselor. She was very efficient with coordinating my first meeting with Margaret. Once I contacted her, she called me back the next day, today, and got information from me about my schedule. Michelle called me back later this day with Margaret in the room to discuss meeting. She then put Margaret on the phone and we were able to coordinate a meeting for later this day.

I picked Margaret up at her group home at 6:30pm. She was waiting for me in the entry way of the building with her coat and bag, ready to go out. We hadn't made concrete plans about what we were going to do so we decided on coffee at Starbucks. Once there, we found a little table and made small talk. She seemed a bit stand-offish but that is probably due to the fact that it was our first meeting and that she does not like to go out much. There were many one-word or short answers so it was a bit difficult at times to keep the conversation going without a lot of silence, but I persisted with questions about her family, her hobbies, and her work. I offered some of my own stories about my family and hobbies. We also discussed possible things to do in the future such as going to the movies, going to see a play, and going out to dinner because we both enjoy those activities. All-in-all I think we will be a very good match and I am looking forward to seeing her again.

I made a follow-up phone call to Margaret today after our outing the previous night. She seems very anxious to meet again but showed some hesitation about going out again, and instead wanted to do things at her home. I think the cold has something to do with that.

I made an attempt at contacting Taure at her group home but she was out. Ms. Hutchings said that Taure is enrolled in classes and is also preparing to move into her own apartment so perhaps she is busy with those things. I left my name and number with the person that directed my call and look forward to hearing for her hopefully tonight.

I made contact with Margaret today, hoping that we could get together for coffee or something, but she did not feel ike doing anything at the time. So we chit-chatted about work and school. She said that she would call me later if she felt up to doing something.

I again tried to make contact with Taure but to no avail. I will try during the week in the evening.

I caught Margaret today on the phone. She seemed well, a little negative about work, but well. We talked about getting together again this week and I suggested Friday morning/early afternoon for brunch, which she seemed happy with.

I tried catching Taure again at her group home, but she did not pick up her phone again. They suggested calling later in the evening.

Tried to get in contact with Margaret this afternoon to confirm brunch for tomorrow, but for some reason she didn't pick up her phone after being paged a couple of times. I left her a message to call me back and my number.

Finally made contact with Taure. She seems really nice. She has been busy with getting situated with her new apartment and she plans on getting a cell phone so hopefully that will make it easier to get in conctact with her in the future. We both are eager to meet but scheduling seems tough. She cut the conversation short and said she would call back later or tomorrow.

I called Margaret this morning to check on what time she wanted to go out this morning since I didn't hear from her yesterday. She seemed to have forgotten that we were supposed to go out this morning and was waiting around for medicine, so i suggested that I come a little later and pick her up after she received her medicine, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to go out still. We chatted for a bit and, before hanging up, I asked her to call me after she received her medicine and that we would decide then if we wanted to go out. After not hearing from her after an hour I called back, at which point she said that she would rather not do anything today. We then made plans to go out to dinner on Sunday since I was going away on a retreat and would not be back until Sunday afternoon.

After the plans with Margaret fell through, I decided to call Taure to ask if she was free, so that we could have lunch together, however I was unable to get ahold of her again, this time her phone seemed to be disconnected so I left a message with the people that connected me to her room in the first place.

After returning from the retreat I called Margaret to ask if it was okay if my parents and little brother joined us for dinner because they had come up to welcome me back from the retreat. She was very excited to meet them and said yes they could come. We then discussed where we might want to go.
When I picked Margaret up at her home, she had decided that she wanted to go to Lunetta's, a restaurant that she had not been to in a while, the last time being for a relative's birthday, so she was excited to go again. We had a good dinner and she enjoyed meeting my parents a lot.

We chit-chatted for a bit about dinner on Sunday and how much she liked my family. We also talked about what we wanted to do not time we got together. She suggested doing something on Friday because she doesn't work on that day. I agreed that would be a good day to do something and also suggested doing something tonight or tomorrow night but she declined both suggestions because she didn't want to go out after i got out of class because it was too late. She seemed to be having problems with her leg, so we talked about that for awhile and I suggested she talk to her doctor about it and to elevate it when she had a chance.

Tried to get ahold of Taure again but her phone seemed to be disconnected still so I assume she is in the process of moving. I left a message for her again asking that she call me.

Taure called me today. We talked about her move and school and what kinds of things she likes to do. She is still very busy, so we are still trying to work in a time for us both to meet.

I called Margaret to check what she wanted to do tomorrow, Friday, and she suggested going to the theatre we passed on our way back from dinner last weekend, the Dipson North Park Theatre. So I looked up what movie was up and what time it was showing and called her back. We then decided on the 2 o'clock showing of The Queen.

Tried to get ahold of Taure today a couple of times to continue chatting today but she was unable to be reached, so I will try her tomorrow.

Called Margaret this morning to make sure she was still up for the movie and to solidify what time I was coming to pick her up. The movie was scheduled to begin at 2:00pm, so we agreed that I would pick her up at 12:00pm so we would have enough time to eat lunch beforehand. We stopped at Wendy's for lunch then headed over to Dipson to see The Queen with Helen Mirren. Margaret seemed to enjoy it, and I found it quite good.

Tried Taure again today but she was out again. The person that answered the phone said that she getting things situated with her apartment.

Called Margaret this afternoon to ask how her weekend was going and we discussed the movie some more. She was anxious to go to another movie soon, so we will probably so that in the next few weeks. We talked about doing something this coming week, just a sundae at McDonalds, nothing fancy.

Called Taure again today hoping that she had went back to her home after the weekend, but she had yet to return.

Margaret called me this afternoon to chat, which I thought was nice. She seemed to be in good spirits, and wanted to talk for a little bit. She also wanted to check when we were going out this week, hopefully Tuesday evening or we will do something Wednesday morning or early afternoon.

I called Margaret to ask if she wanted to go out for coffee or sundaes but she was not up to it this evening, so we agreed for tomorrow late morning.

I finally got ahold of Taure again. She seemed pretty busy with Thanksgiving plans, she was out with a friend shopping for Thanksgiving foods, but we agreed that we could fit a late lunch in tomorrow.

I called Margaret this morning to check on what time she wanted to go out for lunch, we agreed on 11:30am. So we headed over to McDonalds for burgers and sundaes, a great treat. Not very eventful, we sat and chatted about what we were doing for Thanksgiving and about our families.

After dropping Margaret off, I called Taure to ask what time she wanted to go out and where she wanted to go. She was out again with her friend from yesterday, shopping some more, so we decided that we wouldn't do anything until 3pm. So I picked her up at 3pm and by then she had decided that she wanted to go to Apple Bee's, which was great with me. At first we were a little akward, as any first meeting is, but soon we were chit-chatting like any other young ladies in the restaurant. Taure seems really nice, now we just both have to find the time to get together more often.

Margaret called me this afternoon to wish me a Happy Thanksgiving, which was really nice because it's not often that you get a phone call for Thanksgiving. She seemed a little sad because her family only stayed for a short period of time, but I tried to brighten her spirits by reminding her of her friends at her home and about our friendship. She seemed a little happier afterwards and we made plans for Sunday when I return to school.

I caught Taure right before she sat down for dinner to wish her a Happy Thanksgiving and to ask how her holiday was going. She seemed really happy having dinner at her friend's house. She said she would call me back tomorrow.

I called Margaret to ask if she had decided on what she wanted to do Sunday, but she didn't pick up her phone so I left a message stating that I would call her tomorrow or she could call me when she got the message.

I hadn't heard from Taure since Thursday so I decided to call her a couple of times today, but she didn't pick up and her voice mail doesn't seem to work so I couldn't leave a message.

I called Margaret this morning to find out what time she wanted to do something today so that I knew what time to be back to Buffalo. She didn't feel like going out today so we just chit-chatted on the phone and discussed when we wanted to go out again, possibly Wednesday.

I got ahold of Taure this afternoon but she already had plans, so we weren't able to do anything today. She said that I should call after 12pm to get ahold of her because she has classes until then during the week. So I shall have to remember that for the future.

Tried to get ahold of Taure today to ask if she wanted to do something this evening, but she didn't pick up.

Chit-chatted with Margaret for a bit today, she didn't want to do anything this evening but we are planning on going out tomorrow evening for Starbucks.

Tried to get ahold of Taure again today to ask how she is doing, but she didn't pick up.

Called Margaret today to check on what time she wanted me to pick her up, we agreed upon 6:00pm. After picking her up we drove to Starbucks for hot chocolate and coffee. It was a nice outing, we both agreed that it was cold but that we enjoyed doing things together.

Caught Taure for a bit today on the phone. She seems to be doing well, we talked about her apartment and living on her own, both she seems to enjoy. We also talked about school, she's hoping to take classes at Erie Community College.

Chit-chatted with Margaret for a bit today, her knees and feet are still bothering her and the treatment she has been given so far is not satisfactory to her, which I can understand if she is in pain still.

Margaret called me today to chat. She was interested in the wedding that I am going to tomorrow and asked many questions about whose wedding it is, and who I am going with, which made for lots of conversation because I am excited to be going and she shared in that excitement.

I was only able to talk to Taure for a short while today because she seemed busy and her phone kept losing signal, so that was disappointing but I told her I would call later in the week when things weren't so busy and maybe her phone will have worked out its kinks.

Talked with Margaret today. She seems to have had a pleasant weekend. We chatted about when she would like to get together this week for dinner or something. I was hoping to do something tomorrow but she doesn't want to go out too late nor miss her shows, so we will do something wednesday evening.

Tried catching Taure today to possibly do something this evening but her phone appeared to be off because my call went straight to her voice mail, which still doesn't seem to work.

Called Margaret today to check on the time she wanted me to pick her up. She seemed a bit apprehensive about going out but I convinced her to go to McDonald's for a sundae and I picked her up at 6:00pm.

Got ahold of Margaret after a few tries, she was waiting for her medicine when I first called. We chit-chatted about her sister and my parents, she again asked when she was going to see my parents again because she liked them so much. I told her probably over Christmas break because then they would be in Buffalo a few times, and she seemed satisfied with that answer. I tried convincing her to go out to do something, like going to the art museum but her lags and feet are still bothering her so I understood when she turned my offer down. I offered to come and visit her but she said she needed to clean her room before I could. So I agreed that I would go over tomorrow

Tried getting in contact with Taure to ask if she wanted to go to the museum this afternoon but she didn't pick up.

Called Margaret this morning to ask what time she wanted me to come and visit and we agreed that 2:00pm would be fine. We visited for a bit, Margaret showing me the books for the classes she has taken, she even offered to give me some of them because she doesn't read them anymore, but I convinced her that she could use them in the future, so she kept them. We listened to her cd player for a little bit and I helped her rearrange and find things.

Chit-chatted with Taure for a while but our conversation kept getting interrupted because her phone kept losing signal so she said she would call me back later.

Tried getting ahold of Taure today to ask if she wanted to do anything later since I do not have an exam tomorrow but I couldn't get a hold of her.

Chatted with Margaret for a while after my exams, she seemed pleased with my answers to her question on how I thought I did on the exams. I then offered to take her to get a sundae before my next exam which she took me up on, so I picked her up and we went to McDonald's.

Caught Taure on the phone for a bit before her phone needed to be charged, but we chatted about exams and tests and school in general before we got cut off. She is doing well, she said she has been busy.

Chit-chatted with Margaret for a bit today, her knees and feet are still bothering her, but I convinced her to do something this weekend. I suggested lunch but we will see what she is up to then.

I was able to catch Taure on the phone for a little bit but nopt without her phone cutting out a few times. She is still having problems with her phone, so I suggested she take it to the store she bought it from and that maybe they could replace it for her. I told her that I would take her but she said she didn't have time to do it today.

Called Margaret this morning to ensure that she still wanted to go out this afternoon and ask what she wanted to do, but she said she wanted to take a nap before hand so we should go out later in the afternoon, so I agreed to pick her up at 5:00pm for dinner at McDonald's.
