=====Introduction=====
Through an endowment to the department and college, Dr. Donald L. Tollefson provided support for a number of academic enhancements to the department's offerings. The Lectureship is one of those. Twice yearly nationally known researchers in various areas of psychological science will share their work with the college community and meet with interested students in classes and individually.

====Dr. Louis Burgio====
A 1976 graduate of the college, Dr. Burgio is now Distinguished University Research Professor and Director of the Center for Mental Health and Aging at the University of Alabama. Dr. Burgio was on campus November 2 and 3, 2006. His talk dealt with caretaking of Alzheimer patients. He shared information from his own research and that of a national consortium of researchers.
